Calistenia
Here at Keela Permaculture we have a daily class of Calisthenics or yoga to keep our body flexible, strong and mobile. Calisthenics is a gole based workout regiume that uses our body weight. Usually, to achieve our goals, we need to improve our mobility, strength and flexibility.
Calisthenics or callisthenics is a form of strength training that utilizes an individual’s body weight as resistance to perform multi-joint, compound movements with little or no equipment.
For beginners, we work towards our first press-up, our first handstand against the wall, our first pull-up and our first l-sit.
For more advanced individuals, we work towards high pull-ups, muscle-ups, front levers, planches, handstands, and pistol squats.
All our classes start with a 15-minute movement warm-up and end with 30 minutes of flexibility training and relaxation.

For the farm residents, we practice a class each morning before farm activities to get us ready for the day. Attending classes is optional, but students usually love it and find that they leave Keela the healthiest they have ever been. This is not only due to the workouts but also to farm life, healthy food, clean water, and fresh air.
Drop-in classes for locals are in the afternoon. Please contact us, and we will add you to the WhatsApp group so you can receive each week’s class schedule.
